 1000 MIGLIA WARM UP USA 2019

23 – 26 October 2019

The 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2019 will take place from Wednesday 23rd to Saturday 26th October in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Washington, Alfa Romeo, Chopard, Alitalia & Creighton Farms.

Where to See the Cars in the Middleburg Area

Come out and cheer on the rare 1000 Miglia cars as they pass through Middleburg during the 500+ mile rally!  All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Thursday, October 24th

8:00-9:00AM: GREEN FLAG START at “Pink Box” on North Madison St. – Middleburg, VA. (30 cars line up for the start on North Madison St in Middleburg and drive a 200 miles northern loop)

5:00PM: CARS & COCKTAILS – The Club at Creighton Farms. Invitation Required. (This private sunset event lets invited guests get up close to the cars and meet the drivers over cocktails & hors d’oeuvres).

Friday, October 25th

9:30AM: START at “Pink Box” on North Madison, St. – Middleburg, VA. (30 cars line up for the start on North Madison St. in Middleburg and drive a 200 miles southern loop)

5:00-7:00PM: FINISH LINE WELCOME at “Pink Box” on North Madison, St. – Middleburg, VA. (The cars will return at approximately 6:30PM to a festive welcome on North Madison St. in Middleburg)

Saturday, October 26th

6:00-9:00AM: Cars & Coffee “Pink Box” on North Madison, St. – Middleburg, VA

7:30AM: START, Green Flag Sendoff   – Event at “Pink Box” on North Madison, St. – Middleburg, VA (The 1000 Miglia cars line up for the last time on North Madison in Middleburg. They will then drive to Creighton Farms for public ticketed event, eventually ending on Italian soil at Villa Firenze, the Ambassador’s Residence) 

8:00AM – 11:00AM: CARS & CAPPUCCINO at Creighton Farms, Aldie, VA. Ticketed Event open to the public offering: Continental breakfast, cappuccino, Then & Now auto showcase, and Official 1000 Miglia Time Trial.  Purchase Tickets Here

After the success of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2018, this year the event will expand regarding both the number of participating cars and the number of days for the race and the overall winner will be awarded the inaugural Coppa USA (USA Cup).

 The event is reserved for up to 40 cars in two classes: the 1000 Miglia Era Class and the Post-1000 Miglia Era Class. The first will be open to 1000 Miglia eligible cars, built between 1927 and 1957, as well as significant sports and grand touring cars built during the same period; the second will be open to sports, grand touring and supercars cars built from 1958 to present day.

The crews will be divided into two categories: novice and veterans, based on the number of participations in the last seven editions of the 1000 Miglia. Veteran competitors are the crews with at least one driver with experience in two, or more, 1000 Miglia between 2013 and 2019 and novice competitors are those with less or no experience in the 1000 Miglia. In addition to the Coppa USA (reserved for the winner of the 1000 Miglia Era Class), crews will also compete for eight guaranteed entries to the 1000 Miglia race in May 2020. These guaranteed entries will be distributed to the two top veteran competitors in each class (1000 Miglia Era and Post-1000 Miglia Era) and two top novice competitors in each class.

Wednesday 23rd October will be reserved as the warm up race training day at nearby Summit Point Motorsports Park – one of the 1000 Miglia Technical Partner for the event along with Creighton Farms and Competizione & Sports Cars . The instruction will include road book and regularity race training with 1000 Miglia instructors on the challenging Shenandoah circuit.

The USA championship race cover over 500 miles and will start Thursday, October 24th in Middleburg - in the heart of Virginia horse and wine country - and end on Saturday, October 26th in Washington, DC. The routes for Thursday and Friday will start and end in Middleburg and the host hotel selected for the these days is the Salamander Resort and Spa. On Saturday, the race will start in Middleburg, stop at Creighton Farms for an Official Time Trial and Cars & Cappuccino event, then Point of Rocks, Maryland with a stop at Congressional Country Club, before passing near the U.S. Capitol, and ending, on Italian soil, at Villa Firenze. The 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2019 will conclude on Saturday evening with a gala dinner and awards ceremony for competitors, dignitaries, and guests. The Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. will be the host hotel accommodation for the final night.
